What to Expect

Chiropractic has been around for over 100 years and Doctors of Chiropractic are licensed in every state.  Chiropractors are trained to evaluate your body for misalignments in your spine, joints and muscular changes.  If these misalignments are found the Chiropractor will realign your body by performing an adjustment.  Joint and structural alignment by using the adjustment is the most known method of treatment used by Chiropractors. Often a “click” or “clicking sound” will be heard or felt as joints are adjusted.  Dr. Perks specializes in using a little force as needed to adjust you.

Realignment of the spine or joints will often provide quick relief of pain and improve mobility and function. Just like a car that needs to be realigned, we hit pot holes in life with our daily work, family and play (we call these stress of life). These pot holes leave effects that will cause stiffness, achiness, headaches and more.

Just like a car out of alignment leads to tires and other parts wearing out quickly, skeletal misalignments will cause the body to wear out more quickly leading to further muscle and joint pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia and inflammation. Many people find that an occasional Chiropractic adjustment tune up relieves stress and helps them feel good, sleep better and have more energy. Don’t forget to schedule a Chiropractic visit for your next adjustment to help optimize your structure and health. Relief is often just a click away.

On your initial visit you will get a consultation, evaluation of your spine (joints & muscles) & chief complaint area(s), saliva pH test, heart rate variability assessment and Chiropractic adjustment.  Please allow extra time to complete paperwork if you do not bring the completed forms with you. [Chiropractic initial intake forms click here]  This initial session usually takes 1 hour.  Also, in order to perform the saliva pH test, please do not eat (this includes mints or gum) or drink anything 1-2 hours before your appointment.  Drinking water is fine.
